A Day of Resilience- Sunday September 12, 2021

10:30 am- Tour of the Under Ground Railroad

A tour of a few Underground Railroad sites starts the day!  No one is more equipped to lead this tour than Tony Cohen!! 

Anthony Cohen is an historian, author, and explorer of the American past. An early purveyor experiential history, Cohen launched his career in 1996, walking two months from Maryland to Canada, along a route of the Underground Railroad; the secret route to freedom for American slaves. Cohen is the Founder and President of The Menare Foundation, Inc., a national non-profit organization, “Preserving the Legacy of the Underground Railroad” and operates the Button Farm Living History Center, a 40 acre farm depicting 1850s plantation life in Mary 


You do not want to miss this tour, we will meet at the Harriet Tubman "Take my Hand" mural and leave promptly at 10:30 am.  Please be prepared to drive your own vehicle.

Back by popular demand... Jermaine Anderson will be cooking up some of his favorite dishes! 

Pair that with the soulful sounds of Suzette Pritchett (Day of Resilience 2019) and the Lifetime Band will serenade you with the perfect balance of gospel  and jazz selections. Comfort food and music, the perfect send off from a weekend of Resilience!

The mural is located in the rear parking lot at 428 Race Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.

Statue Donation

Volunteer for the AGCDC Iron Man fundraiser team

Join our team as we raise money for the Harriet Tubman Statue.

The Iron Man foundation will make a generous donation to Harriet's Journey Home for our team's support of Iron Man 2021.  We are looking for 20 volunteers to join our team as we support the bike portion of the Iron Man race on Taylors Island.  Join us, we will have music, food and fun! Teenagers are welcomed!!
