Save the date: Harriet Tubman Summit September 2026

WThe Harriet Tubman Inaugural Summit takes place in Dorchester County, Maryland, where Tubman was born and began her journey. At its core, the summit is about resilience, community, and opportunity, and we hope everyone comes out with a sense of all three. Everyone who joins helps lift local voices and build access to knowledge and resources. The summit honors Tubman’s courage and asks how her example can guide us as we move forward. The Day of Resilience has long been a meaningful tradition at Alpha Genesis. We created this day of community celebration to remind everyone of the strength we hold when we come together. After a brief pause in our annual observance, this year’s Day of Resilience carries renewed purpose. We hope it brings fresh inspiration, restores a sense of unity, and sparks community action as we move through the rest of the summit month. It is a moment to reconnect, to honor our shared history, and to step forward with a collective commitment to resilience and progress. This year, we will host a community Shoe Drive to support families in need. We will also take time to honor our elders and ancestors, both those who are with us and those who have passed on, whose wisdom and sacrifices continue to guide our work.

This ceremony and the entire summit honor Harriet Tubman’s life and the legacy she left behind. We gather to learn from her commitment to freedom, her spirituality, her service to community, and her remarkable resilience. Now, after her posthumous promotion in 2024, we have the privilege of recognizing her with the rank that reflects the magnitude of her accomplishments as Brigadier General Harriet Tubman.
We are bringing 250 Women Veterans together to give tribute to General Tubman, in honor of the Nation's 250th Anniversary, to ensure everyone knows that our history, and Harriet's legacy, are United States History, and in this unsure time in our nation we find it imperative to embody that resilience and obligation to community Harriet showed throughout her life.
